The CO.ME.CA. S.p.A. Internal Auditing division performs controls and responds hierarchically to the Board of Directors; it also maintains a practical link with the Managing Director and provides a report to the BoD.
The role of Internal Auditing consists in monitoring and assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of the company’s internal control system through its auditing which is aimed at:
- supporting corporate governance, control and management of risks of the Board of Directors and Top Management;
- participating in the process of creating values within the company through expected reductions in operational losses as a consequence to an improvement in controls;
- performing activities to control, on one hand, operational regularity and the progress of the risks that the company is exposed to, and on the other, assess the practicality of the entire internal control system and bring to the attention of Top Management any possible improvements to risk management policies, to measuring instruments and to procedures.
Internal audits are performed by a team of qualified auditors in compliance with the spirit and the letter of the international UNI EN ISO 19011:2003 standard. They review all the relevant processes, procedures or activities for the different management systems, in order to constantly monitor the level of compliance of the company’s activities, with a view to preventing criminal offences that are relevant to Leg. Dec. 231/01 on administrative responsibility of legal persons, companies and associations, including those without a legal personality.
